Nothing. The GetWaterSmart Directory is non-transactional. When consumers find a product they wish to purchase, they can click on the Find out more button to purchase directly from your website, or that of your chosen distributor(s).
You can feature any link you choose for each water efficient product you provide. It can direct consumers to one of your distributor’s websites.
Yes – the GetWaterSmart team has prepared a checklist here of what you’ll need in order to feature your water efficient products. This includes a storefront to showcase your organisation and ambitions around water efficiency.
You can feature as many water saving products as you wish on the GetWaterSmart Directory, so long as each product is certified with the relevant water efficiency accreditation. For example, a showerhead must have UWLA accreditation in the UK, and WaterSense in the US and WELS in Australia.
Yes. You can provide special offers via the GetWaterFit newsletter which is sent to those consumers who complete the GetWaterFit digital tool, and who opt in to receiving correspondence about water efficiency. You can have a run through GetWaterFit at https://www.getwaterfit.co.uk/#/ Once you’ve registered, you’ll see how the tool recommends water efficient products appropriate to your individual profile, with links directly through to the GetWaterSmart Directory.
Yes. You can generate a UTM string of code to embed within social media or a QR code. Consumers who complete the GetWaterFit tool via this UTM link will see your logo and banner, creating essentially a water efficiency white label site. The banner will direct these users directly to your company storefront on the GetWaterSmart Directory.
If this is of interest, the GetWaterSmart team will be happy to discuss further.
Your brand and certified water saving products will be visibly associated with water efficiency and water conservation.
From a business perspective, you can download our report here which explains the rationale behind this initiative in more detail, in particular how shifting customer sentiment towards sustainability and the evolving retail media landscape are emphasising the need for brands to innovate in order to stay competitive.
You will still be competing, but not with manufacturers that promote non-certified products that claim to be water efficient. Essentially, the GetWaterSmart Directory creates a level playing field of providers of exclusively certified water efficiency products.
Users can access the GetWaterSmart Directory via a search engine, for example Google, if they know what they are looking for; or via the GetWaterFit tool that will help them understand which products are right to help save water and energy, and then links through to these water efficient products on the GetWaterSmart Directory.
GetWaterFit is a customer engagement tool. Anyone can use it. They simply visit https://www.getwaterfit.co.uk/#/ and complete the short questionnaire to understand how and where they use water in the home, and what simple actions – including product recommendations featured on the GetWaterSmart directory – they can take in order to reduce their cold and hot water use, and their utility bills.
The GetWaterSmart Directory – and its close association with the GetWaterFit tool – allow manufacturers and distributors to collectively promote water efficiency, and use this to reach a growing segment of shoppers for whom sustainability is important.
The GetWaterSmart Directory is global, but our country-specific sites are each regional. This means you can list products regionally or globally tailored to your goals and preferences. The products will still be subject to relevant regional certification requirements.
All products listed on the GetWaterSmart Directory must comply with the required regional certifications, i.e. Unified Water Label and Smart Drop Certified in the UK.
We do track performance of the GetWaterSmart Directory to ensure the site is fully optimised. We’ll provide you with regular updates on traffic, customer engagement and general activity – including via the GetWaterFit digital tool https://www.getwaterfit.co.uk/#/.
You can revise your certified water efficient products at any time – just get in touch with a member of the GetWaterSmart team at uwla.directory@savewatersavemoney.com and let us know what you would like to change/how we can help.
We drive traffic to the GetWaterSmart Directory using a combination of social media and targeted ads, through our associations with local and regional Water Utilities, and by manufacturers and distributors of certified water saving products who can tailor campaigns through a white label version of the GetWaterFit digital tool.
Yes. Each product must be water saving and carry the Smart Drop Certified or alternative accreditation.
Smart Drop Certified is an international scheme which recognises water efficient products that do not fall within the national water efficiency schemes for water using appliances and fixtures. The accreditation is run and managed by The Water Conservancy in Australia. To apply, visit https://thewaterconservancy.org/smart-drop-certified/.
No. You can load up your certified water saving products in batches, as many as you like at a time. Our GetWaterSmart team will do this for you. You can send your product images, short descriptions and links directly via a SharePoint link, by email or WeTransfer – whichever method suits you best – and they’ll do all the rest.
We have six broad categories in which to feature water saving products: Bathroom, Kitchen, Leak Prevention & Detection, Garden & Landscaping, Businesses and Consultants.
